Privacy policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
This policy explains how Michael Chance d/b/a Prodocere (“Prodocere,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the Prodocere desktop application (the “Software”) and the website at prodocere.com (the “Site”).
1. The Prodocere application
The Software runs locally on your computer. The documents you convert and label are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us, and we never see their contents.
To start the 7-day free trial, the Software asks for your email address and sends it to us together with a one-way coded identifier for your device. We use these only to start your trial and to keep it from being reset by reinstalling. No credit card is required. When you activate a paid license, the Software contacts our payments and licensing provider (Lemon Squeezy) to confirm your subscription, sending only your license key and a device name (for example, your computer’s name, so you can tell your activated devices apart). In every case the Software never sends your documents, their contents, or their file names.
2. Information the website collects
- Information you give us. If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. The form is delivered to our inbox through Web3Forms.
- Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, to operate and secure the Site. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics.
- Payment information. Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, billing details, and payment information to process your subscription, under its own privacy policy. We receive limited order and subscription details (such as your email and plan), but not your full payment card number.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your questions and provide support;
- To provide, activate, and maintain your license and subscription;
- To process payments (through Lemon Squeezy);
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site; and
- To comply with our legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers to run the business, and they receive only what they need to perform their service:
- Vercel — website hosting and the trial database;
- Upstash — the database (on Vercel) that stores trial records (your email and trial start date);
- Cloudflare — domain name service and email forwarding;
- Web3Forms — contact-form delivery;
- Lemon Squeezy — payments, subscriptions, and license keys;
- Google (Gmail) — receives contact emails forwarded from our address.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, and we may transfer information in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business.
5. How long we keep it
We keep contact messages and order records for as long as needed to provide support, maintain your subscription, and meet legal and accounting obligations, and then delete or anonymize them. You can ask us to delete information sooner, as described below.
6. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@prodocere.com. Because the Software does not send us your documents, we do not hold them and cannot access them.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California and Texas privacy statutes, including the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email support@prodocere.com.
7. International visitors
We operate from the United States. If you use the Site from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
8. Children
The Site and the Software are intended for business use and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
